Fake food

Yes you read right. Fake food.

I've recently had to hunt for a fake pie to use as a prop and have discovered a whole new world I never knew existed. The world of fake food and items disguised as food (take your pick - soaps, candles, potpourri, the list goes on!).

Again, as it seems with so many specialty businesses it seems to be based mostly in the US of A and goes from the sublime as seen in the first photo above.

To the ridiculous....

Well my eyes have been opened and apparently there's quite a market for fake cake rental in the US where couples can rent a fake cake complete with one real slice for the cake cutting ceremony. Incredible! Can you imagine Aunt Maude fawning over your beautiful wedding cake when you know it's not real...and to that point would you tell your guests or keep it schtum? Moral dilemma!

I have to admit there are some really beautiful designs and some really ingenious ideas for getting around the cake cutting ceremony issue. This one was from a company called Ultimate Fake Cakes.

However, I think for now I will be sticking with my fake pie for my act and keeping the rest of my food entirely edible.

2010 Calendar

Just a bit of exciting news in...Shortly there'll be the opportunity to buy my very first calendar for 2010...Ooh er!

The calendar is a mix of some of my best pictures from various photo shoots throughout 2009 and onstage performance pictures. I'm really quite pleased with it and I'm sure you will be too. Don't forget your glamourous friends this Christmas, it's the perfect gift for a vintage lad or lass!
